Do you know cox&cox? It's a great shop and I love the cute stuff they have.
(Quelle: Wikipedia).
On August 3, 1955, Sadako's best friend Chizuko Hamamoto came to the hospital to visit and cut a golden piece of paper into a square to fold it into a paper crane, in reference to the ancient Japanese story that promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. A popular version of the story is that she fell short of her goal of folding 1,000 cranes, having folded only 644 before her death, and that her friends completed the 1,000 and buried them all with her. This comes from the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. An exhibit which appeared in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum stated that by the end of August, 1955, Sadako had achieved her goal and continued to fold more cranes. After her death the Origami cranes stand for WORLD PEACE and the ANTI-NUCLEAR-MOVEMENT.
So basically what it means is that I will send something handmade to the first five (5) people who comment on this blog post. They must in turn post this on their blog and send something they make to the first 5 people who comment. The rules are that it must be handmade by you (sewing, painting, pottery, photography, whatever!), and it must be sent to your 5 people sometime in 2011. I thought it sounded like a lot of fun, but was a bit worried if I’d have enough time. But then I realized you have all year of 2011 to do it, so I decided to take part. What is Craft it Forward?
Craft it Forward is where one person sends 5 others something they’ve made in exchange for the 5 recipients promising to do the same. In theory, this becomes a giant web of people sending each other stuff, while not being overwhelming (since the limit is 5). You also commit to doing this by the end of the calendar year.
Also hinterlasst einen Kommentar und verlinkt die Aktion auf eurer Seite und dann gibts 2011 was handgemachtes.
